Im still new to Vietnamese food since I had a really bad past couple experiences with this specific type of food. I was super skeptical but decided to give it a try since my dad assured me this establishment has never gotten him sick and it tastes good. Thankfully, he was right! I absolutely love peanut sauce whenever I make beef & rice wraps at home so I was glad Huong Tra was able to bring that out to me! I ordered the pork chop and egg and for the price, the portion was huge! I still play it safe because I'm not really sure what to order, please give me recommendations! Although the service was fast, I'm not sure if I'd necessarily come back since there was hair in my mom's food and the parking situation was horrible.

Absolutely most delicious food!! We were traveling from Florida by car and found this place on google and gave it a try! I ordered pork chop over white rice and my husband ordered a pho (combination pho) both dishes were soo good we almost ordered an other portion! Lots of people were eating at the restaurant and we can see why! And the cherry on top was they brought two delicious coconut and coffee taste candies with the receipt! We will definitely stop by on the way back home!

The best Vietnamese restaurant in Richmond. And it's a secret gem that we sometimes try to keep to ourselves. The menu is numbered so the best way to order is to memorize the numbers. Rice Plates: #47 lemon grass chicken, #48 pork chops #50 pork chop with bean curd roll #62 cubed steak over rice Stir Fried Noodles: #32 Beef Chow Fun Appetizer: #6 Fried Shrimp Tempura Seafood Plate: #77 salt and pepper fried shrimp with ginger, onions and jalapeño The service is always great and quick. Even when they are busy, they make you feel welcomed. The ambiance is cute and simple. Just know the food will always be a 10/10!!

Love love love Huong Tra. I was introduced to this restaurant by my Vietnamese friend Vy. Great service. I thought it was because Vy is Viet but no, when I went with a friend again, they were just as nice! Food was really authentic according to Vy. I liked the flavors. It was the kind of taste you get when you cook it at home. We loved the omelet it was it a crepe - it was awesome. Fresh veggies and lots of them. Great prices too. Given the quality of the ingredients you are getting a real good deal. Lots of food on the plates!! Parking can be hard. One time I got a spot immediately. Another time I circled the block three times and got one. Not too bad! Go a bit early and be chill.

I recently discovered this Vietnamese place on San Pablo. In today's economy you can't beat a dish that cost less than $15. Very affordable! I've tried two dishes so far - vegetarian pho and the mushroom and tofu over rice. Both dishes were tasty and very filling. Very large menu for vegetarians! Service for dine in and take out are great. Many servers working so you can always get the attention of one of them. Looking forward to trying other dishes from the menu.

Huong Tra is the spot for delicious Vietnamese food. They have been around for forever and expanded a few years ago. They have amazing food that is consistently good. They are always busy and also have a booming takeout business. I always order their fried shrimp which comes with sautéed ginger, onions and jalapenos. It's so crispy, salty and delicious.

My favorite thing to get here are their rice plates. I usually crave Pho but this place makes me almost always order #50 pork chop rice plate with fried chicken wing & bean curd roll. You've got to dine-in to fully appreciate how good everything is. The bean curd roll is so crispy and flavorful with the sweet & sour fish sauce! I glob on their lemongrass chili oil as it pairs perfectly with the grilled pork chop. A little fish sauce over everything with the fresh crunch of the veggies will put you in blissful satisfaction! Been coming here since before their remodel expansion. An old friend's favorite was their cubed beef rice plate. Will only look back remembering the good times.

My husband came back without me and had a good clay pot so today we ordered two clay pots. We ordered a catfish clay pot for myself and my husband ordered a seafood chicken combo. Even though they didn't give my husband the right clay pot (he ended up with a chicken clay pot which is cheaper), we both enjoyed the food. We did call the restaurant and explained that we received the wrong order and they were nice enough to honor that mistake on our next order. We both love Vietnamese food so I am happy that I may have one more Vietnamese restaurant to go to. We are planning to try their shrimp papaya salad, chicken chow fun, eggplant/tofu clay pot, and various rice plates in the near future.
